This throttle valve housing is guaranteed to be compatible only with the GoWesty Fuel Injection Replacement Kit (GW-EFI).It is fitted with a widely available TPS sensor (Bosch part number 0-280-122-014 or equivalent) that can be made to work with other aftermarket EFI systems, but wedo notoffer any support for any applicationother thanwith our GW-EFI kit. Itis NOTcompatible with the original Bosch Digifant/Digijet EFI systems. Details
The thirty-plus-year-old throttle valve housings on all Vanagons are all just plain worn out. One of the main issue with the original design throttle shaft rides directly on the housing: no bearings, no snap rings, no nothing. Over time the throttle shaft bores ovalize, and the downward force of the throttle shaft assembly causes the throttle plate to come into contact with the housing, and the resulting wear creates all sorts of issues, particularly at idle and at wide open throttle.
This GoWesty-designed throttle valve housing eliminates all of these problems. The throttle housing is completely replaced with a much more stable and sturdy design made out of solid billet and CNC machined into shape. The throttle shaft is supported by sealed ball bearings and located via snap rings, which hold the shaft firmly in place and eliminate 100% of the wear problem. Each throttle position switch and throttle plate stop has been pre-adjusted in-house during assembly: no further adjustment necessary, forever!
